Limited Warranty

Western Canadian Wood Works (“WCWW”) warrants that each barrel sauna manufactured by WCWW is free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal residential use, subject to the terms and conditions outlined in this Limited Warranty.

This warranty applies only to the original purchaser, is non-transferable, and begins on the original date of delivery.

Warranty Coverage

1. Heater Warranty – One (1) Year

The sauna heater supplied by Western Canadian Wood Works is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the original delivery date.

If the heater is determined by WCWW to be defective under normal residential use, WCWW will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace the defective heater or component.

This warranty does not cover damage resulting from:

  • Improper electrical installation

  • Incorrect voltage or wiring

  • Failure to use a licensed electrician where required

  • Improper operation

  • Abuse or misuse

  • Unauthorized repairs or modifications

  • Lack of maintenance

  • Water damage

  • Power surges or electrical faults

2. Craftsmanship Warranty – One (1) Year

The wooden structure and craftsmanship of your sauna are warranted for one (1) year from the original delivery date against defects caused by faulty workmanship or manufacturing.

Should a manufacturing defect occur during the warranty period, WCWW will, at its sole discretion, repair or replace the affected component.

Natural Characteristics of Wood

Wood is a natural material and will expand, contract, season, and change appearance over time in response to weather, humidity, temperature, and normal use.

The following conditions are considered normal and are not covered under this warranty:

  • Shrinkage or expansion

  • Minor checking, cracks or splits

  • Small gaps between staves

  • Knots

  • Grain variations

  • Colour variation

  • Resin or sap seepage

  • Minor warping, twisting or cupping

  • Seasonal movement of wood

  • Surface weathering or fading

  • Cosmetic imperfections that do not affect structural integrity or performance

These natural characteristics are inherent to wood products and do not constitute defects in materials or workmanship.

Customer Responsibilities

To maintain warranty coverage, the purchaser is responsible for:

  • Installing the sauna on a level, properly prepared foundation.

  • Following all installation instructions.

  • Having electrical work completed in accordance with local electrical codes and regulations.

  • Applying and maintaining any recommended exterior wood treatment or stain as outlined by WCWW.

  • Performing routine maintenance and inspections.

  • Keeping the sauna properly ventilated and free from standing water.

  • Using the sauna only for its intended residential purpose.

Failure to properly install, maintain, or care for the sauna may void this warranty.

Residential Use

This warranty applies solely to residential, personal-use installations.

Commercial, rental, public, hospitality, or other high-use applications are not covered unless specifically approved in writing by Western Canadian Wood Works.

Shipping and Delivery

Customers are required to inspect their sauna immediately upon delivery.

Any shipping damage, missing components, or visible defects must be noted with the carrier at the time of delivery and reported to Western Canadian Wood Works within 48 hours of delivery.

Damage resulting from shipping, handling by the carrier, unloading, moving, storage after delivery, or customer transportation is not covered under this warranty.

Failure to report shipping damage within the required timeframe may result in denial of the claim.

Warranty Exclusions

This Limited Warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Natural characteristics of wood

  • Cosmetic changes due to weathering or aging

  • Improper installation

  • Improper foundation

  • Failure to follow installation or operating instructions

  • Improper maintenance

  • Neglect or abuse

  • Misuse

  • Fire

  • Flood

  • Wind

  • Hail

  • Lightning

  • Acts of God

  • Animal or insect damage

  • Mold or mildew

  • Unauthorized repairs or alterations

  • Commercial or rental use

  • Electrical issues not caused by a manufacturing defect

  • Damage caused during shipping or transportation

  • Damage caused by moving or relocating the sauna

  • Damage resulting from improper storage

Warranty Claims

To initiate a warranty claim, the purchaser must:

  1. Notify Western Canadian Wood Works in writing within a reasonable time after discovering the issue.

  2. Provide proof of purchase.

  3. Provide photographs and any additional documentation requested.

  4. Permit WCWW a reasonable opportunity to inspect the sauna before any repairs are undertaken.

No repairs should be completed without prior written authorization from WCWW.

Unauthorized repairs or modifications may void this warranty.

Shipping, Freight and Repair Costs

If a warranty claim requires the return of any component or the entire sauna for inspection, repair, or replacement, all shipping, freight, transportation, packaging, loading, unloading, customs fees (if applicable), and insurance costs are the responsibility of the customer.

Where on-site service is requested or required outside WCWW’s normal service area, the customer is responsible for travel expenses, mileage, accommodations (if required), labour, and related service costs unless otherwise agreed to in writing.

This warranty covers only the repair or replacement of defective parts and does not include transportation or service expenses.

Installation and Removal Costs

This warranty does not cover:

  • Installation costs

  • Removal costs

  • Reinstallation costs

  • Electrical work

  • Crane or lifting services

  • Concrete or foundation work

  • Carpentry or landscaping

  • Any costs associated with accessing or relocating the sauna

Limitation of Liability

Western Canadian Wood Works’ sole obligation under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of defective materials or workmanship, at WCWW’s sole discretion.

Under no circumstances shall Western Canadian Wood Works be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, exemplary, or special damages, including but not limited to:

  • Loss of use

  • Loss of enjoyment

  • Loss of income

  • Lost profits

  • Property damage

  • Hotel or accommodation expenses

  • Personal inconvenience

  • Utility costs

  • Installation or removal expenses

  • Any other incidental or consequential damages arising from ownership or use of the sauna.

Some provinces do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages. In such cases, these limitations shall apply only to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law.

Entire Agreement

This Limited Warranty constitutes the entire warranty provided by Western Canadian Wood Works.

No dealer, installer, salesperson, distributor, or other representative has authority to modify, extend, or alter this warranty unless such modification is made in writing and signed by an authorized representative of Western Canadian Wood Works.

By accepting delivery of the sauna, the purchaser acknowledges that they have read, understood, and accepted the terms and conditions of this Limited Warranty.

Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This Limited Warranty shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.

The purchaser agrees that any dispute, claim, or legal proceeding arising out of or relating to the purchase, ownership, use, performance, or interpretation of this Limited Warranty or the barrel sauna shall be brought exclusively before the courts located in the Province of Alberta. The purchaser irrevocably attorns to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Alberta for the resolution of any such dispute, except where applicable consumer protection legislation provides otherwise.
